Zanele Muholi: Mobile Studios | Art21 "Extended Play"

Zanele Muholi brings the studio to the people they photograph, working in homes and shared spaces across South Africa. These mobile settings support a portrait practice grounded in the comfort and agency of LGBTI participants, extending the possibilities of who controls the photographic encounter.
